Dear Rowing Friends,
we are very happy to write you again after this long period of difficulties due to Covid-19. We want to return to competitions; we want to share again our passion for our sport with all our international friends. After the success of Corgeno 2019, we worked hard to organize our big event also in 2020. We did it in Verbania-Pallanza in safety conditions according to a special national protocol but it was not the same. In 2021 we preferred to avoid every health risk after trying to organize in different places. There were no conditions, it was not possible to imagine in May what it would have happened in October. We said last June. “We will return in 2022 with enthusiasm and joy to see again after a long period, to discover again together our wonderful feelings of our FIXED SEAT EUROPEAN ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Fixed Seat Italian Rowing Federation and the city of Taranto are happy to invite you to take part to the 5th FIXED SEAT EUROPEAN ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS. On October the 1st (Saturday), 2022, Taranto will host international regatta for men and women. It will be the first time for our competition in the South of Italy. Organizing Committee, with Polisportiva Taras and Palio di Taranto, is working to grant you all the best services.
Taranto, known as “the city of two seas,” sits in a strategic position between the Mar Grande (Great Sea) and the Mar Piccolo (Small Sea). This location has put it at the heart of important historical events. Castello Aragonese, Taranto Cathedral, Taranto Spartan Museum, the National Archaeological Museum, the Temple of Poseidon, a wonderful promenade and The Sailors Monument of Taranto are some wonderful place to visit. Taranto is also known for its variety of food and local dishes.
After Savona (2013-2015), Reno (2014-2016), Eupilio (2017), Corgeno (2018-2019) and Pallanza (2020), we are ready again to share our passion for fixed seat rowing. PROGRAM – On Friday 30th Septemper there will be the opportunity to train and to try “Italian boats” with Italian coaches.
Important news. Also this year, we will have a special Jole promotional race reserved to rowers born from 1 January 2005 to 31 December 2006. You can enter a Boys crew or a Girls crew or a mixed crew
VERY IMPORTANT! The organising committee will be glad to assist and help you in anything you might need for your stay in Italy.

– transfer from and to hotels offering special room rates after FRIDAY dinner and after SATURDAY race available,

We hope you can appreciate our hospitality. You can entry in “jole” (sweep rowing with 4 rowers and a cox), “gozzi” (sweep rowing with 4 rowers and a cox) or “VIP 7,50” (stand up rowing with 2 rowers). NEWS NEWS NEWS. Then, we will have also a regatta ALL TOGETHER on “lancia” with mixed crews with 10 rowers (5 men and 5 women). So you can take part to “lancia” competition with rowers of your team or also sharing this experience with rowers of other teams if your club has no enough rowers to create a “lancia” club crew. .
